Ultrasound #2 and a Big Surprise!

So the more we go to the doctors the more I am realizing that this dream may be coming true for us! I was so excited that Kevin was able to come to this appointment because I think with him being at this appointment made it seem so much more real. The sonographer called me back and asked Kevin to wait in the waiting room until she was ready to bring him back.

I did the usual, undress and lay on the uncomfortable table while they poked and prodded my insides which believe it or not I am actually getting used to. She wouldn't really tell me anything while she was looking at my uterus which was starting to make me nervous. She turned around to ask me my husbands name and saw how nervous I really was. She told me she would be right back and went out to get Kevin.

Kevin walked in and seemed a little shocked to see me laying on the table and was instantly panicked. I told him everything was fine but he still seemed worried. So when Kathy sat down, she turned the monitor for us to few and sure enough we could see the bean pole. She explained that was the start of the little baby and that it was normal size so we had nothing to worry about. When they finally turned on the sound so we could hear the heart beat I was blown away! How was it possible for something so small to have a heartbeat. Of course Kevin was stunned and I cried like a baby.

When she was done and I got dressed she asked Kevin and I to sit in the waiting room until a nurse could speak to us.When the nurse came out to get us I had no idea what was coming next. She took us back to a consult room and had a couple of papers for us. As she handed them to us, she told us we were being released to our regular OB/GYN! I was again blown away for the second time. Most of the time they keep their patients till 12 weeks but they felt that the baby looked healthy enough to release me early. At this poing I am only 6 weeks 5 days so just a little shy of 7 weeks. She explained that I need to stay on all my medications and needed to make an appointment the following week. She handed us our paperwork, a bag of famous amos cookies with our due date and gave us our congrats and good luck.

So its offical, Baby Krotine is due July 12th 2009!
